Wedge, I am making the recipe that you posted, however the batter is very thick. Am I doing something wrong or should I add something to it?

This is a very nice chocolate cake that does not call for cocoa.

Chocolate Cake
12 servings
Prep: 25 minutes
Bake: 30 minutes
Cool: 1 hour
Stand: 1 hour

Ingredients
2-1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
3/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
2/3 cup butter or margarine
1-3/4 cups sugar
2 eggs
3 ounces unsweetened chocolate, melted and cooled
1 teaspoon vanilla

Directions
1. Grease and lightly flour two 9×1-1/2-inch round baking pans or grease one 13x9x2-inch baking pan; set pan(s) aside. Stir together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt; set aside.

2. In a large mixing bowl beat the butter or margarine with an electric mixer on medium to high speed for 30 seconds. Add sugar; beat till well combined. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each. Beat in chocolate and vanilla. Add dry mixture and 1-1/4 cups water alternately to beaten mixture, beating on low speed after each addition just till combined. Pour batter into the prepared pan(s).

3. Bake in a 350 degree F oven for 30 to 35 minutes or until a wooden toothpick comes out clean. Cool layer cakes in pans on wire racks for 10 minutes. Remove layer cakes from pans. Cool thoroughly on racks . Or, place 13×9-inch cake in pan on a wire rack; cool thoroughly. Frost with desired frosting. Makes 12 servings.

I need a GOOD chocolate cake recipe?

Category: QA

Question by GreysAn: I need a GOOD chocolate cake recipe?
Now I’ve learned how to make a nice and smooth fondant I need a good chocolate cake to cover with it. The recipe I’m looking for should use some dark chocolate as well (because of the sweetness of the fondant) and should be moist! THANKS you guys! Oh and please try not to give me recipes that call for cake mixes because I don’t live in the US so I wouldn’t be able to find those! Thanks again! ;-)
sorry rascal but i don’t see the recipe… :-(

Answer by rascal0718
Here is a fabulous chocolate genoise cake recipe. You can easily use dark chocolate instead of the milk chocolate that the recipe calls for. And if you don’t want to use the mousse filling, then just ice the cake in whatever type of icing you choose. The cake recipe is divine.

I’m looking to bake a cake for graduation. I’m thinking of doing a two layer chocolate cake with some type of raspberry filling between the 2 layers. I’m also thinking of doing a white chocolate icing?

Any recipes would be greatly appreciated!

Article Marketing Tips: Do You Need A Website To Do Article Marketing?

Article Marketing Tips: Do You Need A Website To Do Article Marketing?

This is a relatively common question I receive from beginners:

“I’ve just started article marketing, and I am not sure what to write about. I don’t have a niche, so I have just been writing on various aspects that interest me–classic films, cooking, sailing, etc. Because I don’t have a website, I’m not sure what to write about or what to put in my resource box. I also am not sure how to go about picking the keyword terms that I hear people talking about. Do you have any article marketing tips for me?”

All of these are wonderful questions! You have heard about article marketing, but you are not just sure how it works.

Alright–let’s start at the beginning.

1 – My first question for you is: What do you hope to gain from doing article marketing?

Most times people want to bring attention to their websites. That is what the “marketing” part of article marketing is referring to. Article marketing is done by website owners who wish to get a higher ranking in Google and bring more visitors to their websites.

Now, as a person who does not have a website, what do you want article marketing to do for you? Think about that as we move on to the next parts….

2 – The resource box is essential in article marketing.

When creating free reprint articles, you do not directly receive money in exchange for your articles, but you do receive a type of payment in the form of the resource box. The resource box is an author bio where you can talk briefly about yourself, your business, your websites and products and also give a clickable link to your website.

That link is precious. To state things very simply, that link in the resource box contributes to your website getting a higher ranking in Google. The entire resource box is like your payment–that is the reason why you write the article in the first place.

The publisher publishes your article because it is helpful content that his readers will love. You take the time to write the article because of the resource box.

Now, if you do not have a website, you don’t really have anything to talk about in the resource box, do you? When doing article marketing, you really need a website. Otherwise, there would be little point in the exercise.

3 – You’ve heard talk of using keywords when doing article marketing. What is the deal with keywords?

When people talk about keywords, they are referring to the words or phrases that their target readers type into Google when looking for information. If your website is about chocolate recipes, then your keywords may include: chocolate cupcakes, chocolate deserts, etc.

People pick their keywords by doing research using a tool that is specifically designed for that purpose. You can use the free keyword tool offered by Google, or you can pay to use a tool such as WordTracker, Keyword Discovery, or any number of other keyword research services.

What is the common denominator with all of these questions about article marketing? In order to use this tool as it was intended and get the maximum benefits, you must have a website or web page that you wish to market.

If you have a business that you would like to market online, then you must create a real website first.

If you are just writing for the fun of it, then that is fine. Why not create a Squidoo lens or some other type of simple web page on your topic? You can link to that page in your resource box, and you will at least be getting some of the benefits that article marketing offers.

Question by beckini: Do you have the chocolate cake recipe I need?
I’m looking for a chocolate cake or brownie recipe that uses unsweetened cocoa, and no buttermilk.
Also how can I substitute cocoa for baking squares?

Best answer:

Answer by dubious
That description covers a lot of recipes. Try the one on the back of the Hershey’s unsweetened cocoa can. It is the best.

To sub cocoa for baking squares…. 1 square ounce unsweetened baking square = 3 level tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder plus one tablespoon butter or shortening.

Here’s the cake and frosting recipe…

HERSHEY’S “PERFECTLY CHOCOLATE” Chocolate Cake
Ingredients:
2 cups sugar
1-3/4 cups all-purpose flour
3/4 cup HERSHEY’S Cocoa
1-1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1-1/2 teaspoons baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
2 eggs
1 cup milk
1/2 cup vegetable oil
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 cup boiling water
“PERFECTLY CHOCOLATE” CHOCOLATE FROSTING(recipe follows)
Directions:
1. Heat oven to 350°F. Grease and flour two 9-inch round baking pans.

2. Stir together sugar, flour, cocoa, baking powder, baking soda and salt in large bowl. Add eggs, milk, oil and vanilla; beat on medium speed of mixer 2 minutes. Stir in boiling water (batter will be thin). Pour batter into prepared pans.

3. Bake 30 to 35 minutes or until wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool 10 minutes; remove from pans to wire racks. Cool completely. Frost with “PERFECTLY CHOCOLATE” CHOCOLATE FROSTING. 10 to 12 servings.

VARIATIONS:
ONE-PAN CAKE: Grease and flour 13x9x2-inch baking pan. Heat oven to 350° F. Pour batter into prepared pan. Bake 35 to 40 minutes. Cool completely. Frost.

THREE LAYER CAKE: Grease and flour three 8-inch round baking pans. Heat oven to 350°F. Pour batter into prepared pans. Bake 30 to 35 minutes. Cool 10 minutes; remove from pans to wire racks. Cool completely. Frost.

BUNDT CAKE: Grease and flour 12-cup Bundt pan. Heat oven to 350°F. Pour batter into prepared pan. Bake 50 to 55 minutes. Cool 15 minutes; remove from pan to wire rack. Cool completely. Frost.

CUPCAKES: Line muffin cups (2-1/2 inches in diameter) with paper bake cups. Heat oven to 350°F. Fill cups 2/3 full with batter. Bake 22 to 25 minutes. Cool completely. Frost. About 30 cupcakes.

“PERFECTLY CHOCOLATE” CHOCOLATE FROSTING

1/2 cup (1 stick) butter or margarine
2/3 cup HERSHEY’S Cocoa
3 cups powdered sugar
1/3 cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

I need a really good chocolate cake recipe?

Category: QA

Question by Terri: I need a really good chocolate cake recipe?
I’m looking for a really good chocolate cake recipe, does anyone have one? I’ve always considered using a mix as “homemade” (lol) but I want to branch out.
No coffee, please, one of the main consumers is my nine year old son. I would prefer a recipe with cocoa powder (as this is what I bought for the recipe that bombed over the weekend) but I do have semisweet baking chocolate too.
thanks in advanced
Oh, and I’m no Rachel Ray, so the easier the better. :)
