Question by nintendoman427: Need help finding white chocolate brownie recipe?
Trying to make someone a gift whose allergic to cocoa. I came across some white chocolate baking bars but have so far been unlucky in finding any recipes to attempt brownies with them. Tried one recipe with replacing baking chocolate for white chocolate; didn’t work out too well. Any ideas / advice / links would be much appreciated. Thanks.

I need a chocolate chip recipe for thick cookies.?
Category: QA
Question by SChi25: I need a chocolate chip recipe for thick cookies.?
I use to have this recipe for chocolate chip cookies, and when they baked, they stayed pretty thick, unlike the tollhouse ones that flatten quite a bit. The recipe was on the back of some generic chocolate chips bag, and I lost it during my recent move. Does anyone know of a recipe for this, or just a way to make the cookies thick? Thanks in advance!

Chocolate Chip Cookies
1 cup sweetened flaked coconut
1 cup chopped walnuts or pecans
2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon kosher or coarse salt
3/4 cup dark brown sugar, firmly packed
3/4 cup granulated sugar
1 cup butter, softened
2 large eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
Preheat oven to 375*F (190*C).
To toast the coconut and walnuts or pecans, spread each out onto a separate baking sheet. Toast in the 375*F (190*C) oven until they’re golden, stirring each frequently. This takes just a couple of minutes. Watch closely, as they will burn easily. Set aside to cool.
In medium bowl whisk together the flour baking soda, baking powder, and salt, mixing well. Set aside.
Cream sugars and butter in a large bowl using an electric mixer at medium speed until texture is fluffy and light in color. Add eggs and vanilla; continue to beat an additional 3 minutes or until creamy textured.
By hand, stir in flour mixture until just mixed; gently fold in the chocolate chips, toasted coconut and walnuts.
Drop by tablespoonfuls onto parchment-lined or non-stick baking sheets, 2-inches apart.
Bake in the upper of the oven for 10 to 12 minutes, or until lightly browned, turning the baking sheet around halfway through the baking time to allow even baking of the cookies.
Transfer cookies to wire racks to cool. Store in tightly sealed container.

This chocolate cake is the business! ;-)
Sachertorte
Yield: 12 servings.
This recipe gives a cake similar to the velvety cake you can have at Hotel Sacher in Vienna. Please note that the cake should be assembled 1-2 days before serving to become moist.
Ingredients
4 oz (120 g) sweet or semisweet dark chocolate (37-50 % cocoa)
5 eggs
¾ cup (155 g) sugar
½ cup (1.2 dl) vegetable oil
1 cup (2.4 dl or 140 g) all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
3 tablespoons (0.45 dl) water
Method
1. Preheat oven to 350 deg F (Gas mark 4 or 180 deg C) and grease a 9 inch (23 cm) cake tin, lightly dust with flour.
2. Break the chocolate into small pieces and melt it with the water in a double boiler (over hot water).
3. Separate egg whites and egg yolks. With an electric mixer whisk the eggs whites until forming stiff peaks, add gradually half of the sugar while mixing.
4. In a separate bowl whisk the egg yolks with the remaining sugar for one minute using the electric mixer. Add gradually the vegetable oil, one tablespoon at a time, whisk well between each time oil has been added. Add the melted chocolate and mix well. Transfer to the bowl containing the whisked egg whites.
5. Sift in the flour and baking powder, add vanilla extract. Fold everything carefully together using a spoon or a rubber spatula.
6. Transfer to the cake tin and bake at 350 degrees until a wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean, approximately 45 to 60 minutes.
7. Leave the cake to cool in the tin; it is recommended to place it into a refrigerator for at least one hour before slicing. When completely cold, remove the top of the cake, and slice the cake through the middle to make two layers.
Ingredients for Glace and Frosting
12 oz (350 g) apricot jam
2 tablespoons butter
7 oz (200 g) sweet or semisweet dark chocolate (37-50% cocoa)
1. Use half of the jam to sandwich the two layers together. Coat the tart thinly with the remainder of the jam. If possible, wrap the cake with plastic and put it into the refrigerator for 1-3 days before adding the chocolate icing.
2. Break the chocolate into small pieces and melt it with butter in a double boiler (over hot water).
3. Let the mixture cool to room temperature, and spread it evenly over the tart.
4. Place the tart in the refrigerator to harden the frosting.

Easy chocolate chip cookie recipe #3: Cookies from scratch
Ingredients: One teaspoon of salt One teaspoon of baking soda One teaspoon of vanilla flavoring or vanilla extract Three fourths cup of white sugar (granulated) Three fourths cup of brown sugar (packed) One cup (or two sticks) of unsalted butter (softened) Two large eggs Two and one fourth cups flour (all purpose works well)
Directions:
Preheat your oven to three hundred and seventy five degrees Fahrenheit. While the oven is pre-heating, mix together one teaspoon of baking soda, one teaspoon of salt and two and one fourth cups of flour together in a small bowl. In a large bowl, beat together the one cup (or two sticks) of softened unsalted butter together with three fourths cups of white sugar, the three fourths of a cup of brown sugar and the teaspoon of vanilla flavoring (or extract). Beat the ingredients together until they are creamy. Once you have made a creamy mixture add the eggs one at a time and make sure they get beaten in thoroughly before adding in the flour mixture. Slowly add in the flour, salt, baking soda mixture until you have formed a slightly firm and smooth cookie dough. Stir in the chocolate chips (most easy chocolate chip cookie recipes recommend two cups’ worth, but you can add as much or as little as you want). Next, use a teaspoon to drop blobs of cookie dough onto cookie sheets. Make sure the drops are a couple of inches apart and then bake each sheet for nine to ten minutes at a time. Cool the cookies for ten to fifteen minutes after they are taken out of the oven. Enjoy these easy chocolate chip cookie recipes!
