Need recipe – chocolate cake with raspberry filling?
Category: QA
Question by Mandy84: Need recipe – chocolate cake with raspberry filling?
I’m looking to bake a cake for graduation. I’m thinking of doing a two layer chocolate cake with some type of raspberry filling between the 2 layers. I’m also thinking of doing a white chocolate icing?
Any recipes would be greatly appreciated!
I’ve looked through my 3 recipe books that have cakes in them… and I have found nothing.

Does anyone know an easy chocolate sauce recipe I can make, only have cream and milk chocolate!? Maybe vanilla?
Question by plush: Does anyone know an easy chocolate sauce recipe I can make, only have cream and milk chocolate!? Maybe vanilla?
I also have things like cocoa and butter. But no other chocolate. Need recipe fast. Also, can I make the sauce early and heat it later – or do I have to make and eat?

Answer by ED
Heat the cream and pour over equal volume of chopped chocolate and stir until dissolved. Add a tbs of butter and a tsp vanilla. This is a ganache sauce. If you let this harden you can make truffles. Reheat, and you have a sauce again.

Will taking away the rum from a chocolate mousse recipe ruin it’s entire taste?
Category: QA
Question by Shavi: Will taking away the rum from a chocolate mousse recipe ruin it’s entire taste?
I’m making chocolate mousse for my class, but it has rum in it. If I make the recipe without the rum will it ruin the entire thing?
Best answer:
Answer by Noccie
no, it will still work. check your grocery store though for rum flavor, if they have it you will find it near the vanilla. add a splash of that for flavor. or try using a recipe that does not call for rum – there are a million recipes for chocolate mousse online.

can you use fresh cherries in a chocolate cherry cake recipe?
Category: QA
Question by Sally: can you use fresh cherries in a chocolate cherry cake recipe?
I bought a bag of cherries at the grocery store the other day, and realized I am not going to be able to eat them all before they go bad. I have a chocolate cake mix and was looking around online for a cherry chocolate cake recipe but all of them are stating cherry pie filling. could I use the fresh cherries? yes I know u have to pit them but I was wondering about the sugar that is in pie filling what would the quantity be if any.
Best answer:
Answer by Angella G
I would try it but after pitting then cherries I would chop them up real small, I think it would taste fantasti, chocolate and cherries are a great combo, if you have any almond extract I would also add a dash of that to the cake mix! try it and let us know how it turned out.. Also reserve some of the cherries and add them to a food processor and once you have them mushed add em to some vanilla frosting and ice the cake, mmm, yum now I’m hungry lol.. ok good luck.

Costco Chocolate Frosting recipe?
Category: QA
Question by mistresscris: Costco Chocolate Frosting recipe?
I recently had the pleasure of consuming a large piece of cake from Costco with had the most delicious chocolate frosting I’ve ever tasted. Does anyone know the recipe for it? It wasn’t a whipped cream frosting, it was more of a chocolate buttercream.
Thanks for the recipe, but I’m not looking for a generic chocolate buttercream frosting. I could’ve looked that up myself. I’m looking for a copycat to Costco’s frosting.
Best answer:
Answer by Heather D
Easy Chocolate Buttercream Frosting
1 stick butter, room temperature
2/3 cup unsweetened cocoa
3 cups powdered sugar
1/3 cup milk (any kind)
1 tsp vanilla extract
Combine all ingredients in a large bowl and beat, with an electric mixer, until frosting is creamy, 3-5 minutes. (Statrt at a low speed to avoid getting sugar everywhere!)
